I am so grateful for the memories and time we spent together. I’ll cherish every kiss that left my ear ringing for hours, every hot towel that awaited me when I got out of the shower, and every calorie consumed from chocolate milk, Nutella and Ramen. I’ll never forget that you were there for me when I was unable to care for myself - even though, at times, I didn’t deserve it. At some point, things started to change, and the Noney I knew was slowly robbed from me. I wish I could go back in time to that very moment to hold you, tell you I love you, and that I’ll be there for you when you’re unable to care for yourself. Even in the clutches of Alzheimer’s, our relationship blossomed into something truly beautiful, despite the degenerative nature of it’s disease course. This was the longest and most painful goodbye that culminated in a fairytale ending where we were able to have our last dance, massage, ice cream and beach trip. You truly don’t know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. I love you Noney ❤️

‼️PULL-UP Challenge‼️
-
✅Looking to get more out of your pull-ups? Give this a try without letting your feet touch the ground.
-
1️⃣Leg Raise x1
2️⃣Hanging Bat Pull-up x1
3️⃣Around the Clock Pull-up x2 (right and left)
4️⃣Commando Pull-up
-
💥Each pull-up variation emphasizes different muscles of the back. These are highlighted in yellow/orange in the bottom right corner for each pull-up variation. 👇Below are some tips to keep in mind when targeting different muscles of the back.
-
✅Placing the elbow in front of the body stimulates a stretch reflex for the lats, which recruits the muscle fibers of the lats to be the primary mover.
✅Placing your body in a horizontal position relative to the pull-up bar will emphasize the rhomboid muscles while placing the body in a vertical position will emphasize the lats.
✅Adding rotation to one side of the body (as seen in the commando and around the clock variations) allows our arms to get behind our body. This allows the lats and lower trapezius muscles to reach maximal contractile force by increasing the working range of motion.

💯If you’re up for the challenge, take a video of yourself and post to your story and tag
‼️Muscle Failure Technique #1: Concentric➡️Isometric➡️Eccentric failure‼️
-
➡️Concentric: This is the muscle shortening phase of a movement (e.g pushing down in the rope in a tricep extension).
➡️Isometric: This describes the static contraction of a muscle during a movement (e.g maintaining tricep contraction at a 90 degree angle in reference to the elbow).
➡️Eccentric: This is the muscle elongation phase of a movement (e.g controlling the ascent of the rope after performing the tricep pushdown).
-
✅We reach concentric muscle failure first followed by isometric failure and lastly, eccentric failure. If our goal is to truly reach muscle failure at the end of our workout, we must reach muscle failure concentrically➡️isometrically➡️eccentrically.
-
💥How to apply to your workout: Perform 2-3 sets for an isolated single-joint movement using the method described in the video above.
