REMINDER: As our residents and guests already know, the temps have been dropping down a bit below freezing overnight and winter hasn't officially started yet. So don't wait to take precautions to prevent frozen pipes. Both RV's and mobile homes should be prepared for even colder weather soon. Here are 6 tips to prevent damage to your home, RV and park pipes:
*ensure the heat is on to at least 55 deg
*allow water to drip from the faucets
*open any drawers or cabinets with plumbing behind them to ensure heat can circulate back to the pipes
*apply heat tape and/or insulation to waterlines/hoses under or around the home.
*Ensure skirting is properly attached and in good repair so as to minimize windchill under the your home.
*In an RV you may consider completely disconnecting your hose when a freeze is predicted and having water in your RV storage tank is advisable. Make sure your RV water pump is working in advance of cold temps.

While it's a bit early for a freeze (Average first freeze date is Oct 28th) ~ don't wait till it's too late to prepare your home, pipes and RV. Here are 6 tips to give you piece of mind with the winter soon approaching.
