Storm season is here, and unfortunately, so are the storm chasers.

After major weather events, it’s common for out-of-town contractors to show up quickly, make big promises, and disappear before problems show up.

Before you sign anything for a repair or replacement, keep a few things in mind:

✅ Look for local companies with a reputation in the community.
✅ Get the price, scope, and materials in writing
✅ Don’t hand over insurance money before the work is complete
✅ Pay attention to the names you see around town and be cautious of anyone knocking on doors after the storm.

A good roof matters. So does knowing who is standing behind it when the work is done.

Teachers do a lot more than teach.

They encourage, support, challenge, mentor, and somehow manage to keep it all moving forward day after day. Like many of you, some of our family members and favorite people are teachers, and we’re incredibly grateful for every educator in our community and the impact they have on so many kids and families.
