Hats off to our old Granny.
She crocheted around everything including keys, pop bottle caps, rubber washers, headbands…she made us gloves, collars, dish rags tea-towels. She crocheted a 2-piece swim suit for my sister in 5th grade. It turns out that cotton crochet thread holds a TON of water, and we had to devise a system for her to ring out the suit before she stood all the way up out of the water, less we flash the rest of the swimmers!

She was busy every minute of the day, and she was productive and didn’t sit around idly, she was crocheting or canning or quilting or something… She was a crafter before that was a thing!
