Some Days the sadness wins So I am a pretty happy, joyful person. I am an Enneagram seven, so that means I always want to have fun and I'm always looking for a good time. I've definitely been able to keep a very positive perspective on everything I've gone through, and all the complications of Noel's life. I definitely have been able to see the silver lining in the clouds. [ 1,369 more word ]

When you’re told your 5 month old daughter will never walk it’s devastating; especially when you’re an athlete.
When Noel received diagnosis of muscular dystrophy my first reaction was that to be optimistic and my first response was, “Well she can still be in the Special Olympics.”
So now every time we get to go to a special Olympic event I am overcome with emotion of how bittersweet it is. It’s bitter and hard that my 12-year-old can’t walk and she needs so much assistance; but it’s so sweet to be around such amazing people and such an awesome organization. There really is nothing like being in a room full of over comers. She had so much fun today a Special Olympic Bowling!

Telling them to “shush” and don’t look is not kind.
I know you’re trying to be polite.
But teaching your child to say hello is actually teaching your child to be polite and kind.
