🔅Let’s talk about Universal Kids Resort in Frisco. Here’s my honest opinion/review.

I went in a little nervous about how our day would go after seeing other reviews & opinions! I was expecting very little shade/theming and expected to feel like I was walking through carnival grounds.

I am pleased to report it did NOT feel like that at all. Walking in, my husband and I immediately turned to each other and said “this is nice! Feels like a theme park!” We have been to Universal Orlando, Disney World, & Disneyland many times…I know how immersive the lands there are. However, I went in remembering that you can’t compare them, and that this is soley focused on KIDS.

Here’s what I LOVED:
🩷 the theming was wayyyy cuter than expected. So many photo ops and cute details throughout! The music changed as you entered each land.
🧡 themed food in every land! I want to go back just to try it all. 😋 what we had was great and prices are what you’d expect for a theme park (some even cheaper than we thought).
💙the team members. Seriously, the nicest people all throughout the park worked there! They made the experience extra special, constantly smiling, opening the doors for us, and making sure we were having a good day!
💛 splash pads! As we know, Texas summers are HOT! There are 3 main splash pads along with other smaller, interactive water-play areas. Bring extra clothing and let them enjoy the water! There are changing rooms available for this! There are also of play areas for your littles to enjoy!
💚 Characters galore! One of my favorite things is being able to meet all of the different characters. Shrek, Fiona, SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Minions, Gabby, Poppy & Guy (trolls), Puss in Boots, & even baby dinosaurs.
❤️ you see how everything was thought of with kids in mind. From the restrooms to the size of the park itself. This park is doable in a day but I know kids would love to go back for repeated fun! You aren’t wearing yourself out trying to navigate a huge park!

What I didn’t like so much:
⛔️No indoor rides! I wish they would do maybe one or two dark rides!
⛔️No app for this park specifically, though I’m sure they will eventually have one!
⛔️the length of the rides are short. Now, this is coming from an adult perspective. My 3-yr old thought a 20 second coaster was more than enough! 😆
⛔️the type of strollers the park rents out. Bring your own if you can! Especially if you want the storage space and something comfortable for them to nap in.
⛔️ The heat, but I also rarely visit Disney World at this time of year because of the heat! There are plenty of spaces to get a break from the Texas sun! Bring your hand held fans, cooling towels, & sunscreen and you’ll be just fine!

So based on our visit during the preview, we would definitely go back. I know that there is much more they offer than what we saw! I’m excited to see how the landscape matures to provide more shade (every line & playground had shade). I did not say anything about the wait times because crowds were very small during the preview, so all rides were walk ons. I’m assuming crowds will be much heavier after their grand opening!

Based on my opinion, I would say this park is perfect for ages 3-10! My 3 month old couldn’t get on ANY rides with us but they do offer rider swap & quiet and private rooms for nursing.

I think Frisco has a gem of a park for kids to enjoy. It’s a perfect weekend getaway. Not to mention, it’s surrounded by so many other things you can do!
