Dilly Dally Threads
Up cycling forgotten textiles into new and one of kind pieces.
I found this 1960s 327k Singer sewing machine at goodwill and decided to take a chance on it. I’ve always wondered what it would be like sewing on a vintage singer. They were made out of steel and iron and this machine in particular is very simple. It does a straight and zigzag stich with the option of doing buttonholes. It’s in the process of being restored. I’ve cleaned it, oiled it and greased the gears. I’ve also replaced a couple of screws on the foot pedal and made sure it’s running at full capacity. It needs a few cosmetic touch ups but other than that it’s in great working condition and I couldn’t be happier!
The details are what make it more fun 😊
I really loved how this one turned out! It gives Harley Davidson vibes. I made it out of fabric I inherited from my grandmother. If you want one let me know I have left over fabric to make more 😊.
I love when things just come together with my me- made wardrobe. I’m wearing the Alpine Boom top that I knitted last year and the Pinyon Pants by sew liberated. I was nervous to sew a pair of wide leg pants since I’m only 5’3. However I think they turned out great! This fit is my new fav.
I found this linen fabric at the thrift store and had just enough to make my favorite t-shirt pattern with it. I could make these all day😍.
This jacket came out better than I had expected. I heavily modified the pattern to use up the last bit of denim I had.
Just finished a pair of jeans that I made out of some thrifted denim. It was originally a deep blue-green color. I ended up bleaching it for an hour and I’m pretty happy with the results. Dilly Dally-ing is fun 😁. If you need any tailoring done, repairs or are curious about what patterns I have available to make shoot me a message. 🫶🏻
I made this top with fabric I found at the thrift store a while back. This pattern would make a cute swim suit, I just need to find swim suit fabric first 😁.
