Rite of Lector.

So, I did a thing yesterday...our class of Deacon Candidate was inducted into the Rite of Lector.

Let us give glory to Christ the Lord, who became our teacher and example and our brother.

If you're heartbroken watching the story about Punch, but you still support abortion, you're an anti-human hypocrite. Hard stop.

Have you ever felt like Punch the Monkey? 🐒 Abandoned. Left out. Rejected. Punch was a baby monkey whose mother abandoned him right after birth. When he tried to join other monkeys, he struggled to fit in and was often pushed away. The zookeepers gave him a stuffed toy for comfort, and the world couldn’t help but watch, relate, and cheer him on. It’s heartbreaking because we’ve all been there: reaching out, trying to belong, and facing rejection instead. Whether it’s friends, family, or society, rejection hurts — it makes us question our worth and wonder if we’re enough. But here’s the truth we see in God’s Word: rejection is temporary. Your value doesn’t depend on others. 📖 Psalm 27:10 – “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” 📖 Deuteronomy 31:6 – “He will never leave you nor forsake you.” 📖 Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Even Jesus understands rejection. He was despised and rejected by mankind (📖 Isaiah 53:3), yet His rejection brought redemption. Like Punch, sometimes we cling to things for comfort when we feel alone. But God never leaves our side. He is close, He receives us, and He reminds us that rejection doesn’t define our identity. You are not unwanted. You are not too much. You are not invisible. You are chosen. You are loved. You are God’s. If you’ve ever felt rejected, this is your reminder: God is still holding you. He never abandons what He loves. 🤍

As Lent begins, the Church invites us to purify our hearts and renew our lives, drawing closer to God as we prepare for the great feast of Easter. One meaningful way to do this is by repenting of our sins and frequently receiving the Sacrament of Confession. No matter how long it’s been, it’s never too late to return and begin again.
