๐ถ Heading to a Concert or Community Celebration This Fourth of July? Stay Safe!
Whether you're enjoying live music, a festival, or another community event, a little planning can help make your holiday fun and stress-free.
Tip of the Day from the DCHD!
โ๏ธ Stay hydrated, bring a reusable water bottle if permitted and drink water throughout the day.
โ๏ธ Dress for the weather and wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses if you'll be outdoors.
๐ง Protect your hearing! Loud music can damage hearing over time. Wear earplugs or noise-reducing headphones, especially for young children.
๐ฑ Charge your phone before you leave and consider carrying a portable charger.
๐ฅ Choose a meeting spot in case you get separated from family or friends.
๐ถ Be aware of your surroundings and know where exits, first aid stations, and security personnel are located.
๐ถ Keep a close eye on children and consider taking a photo of them before arriving in case you become separated.
๐ Pack light and follow venue rules for bags and prohibited items.
๐ Plan your ride home before the event begins. If you're drinking, always designate a sober driver or use a rideshare or public transportation.
A little preparation goes a long way toward making your Independence Day celebration safe, enjoyable, and memorable.
Have a happy, healthy, and safe Fourth of July! โค๏ธ๐ค๐

As we approach the Fourth of July holiday, please remember Haverford Township's regulations regarding the use and possession of consumer fireworks. According to ยง 83-19 of the township code, it is unlawful for anyone under 18 to use or possess fireworks. Fireworks cannot be ignited on public or private property without permission, from or into a vehicle or building, while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
These rules are in place to prevent fires and keep our residents safe. Fireworks can easily ignite fires and cause injuries if not handled properly. By following these guidelines, we help protect our community and ensure a safe and happy Independence Day for all. Celebrate responsibly and keep our neighborhood safe!
