Shot was just a bit outside… 😂 but we was able to help this 80 yrs old man get his buck!!

Glad we could recover this young man buck this morning.

1 for 2 Saturday and had a couple good training tracks for my pup that some youth hunters shot and allowed us to come get some practice. The first one was a shoulder shot with a bow, the dogs got him up around 400 yard mark but we couldn’t put the brakes on him. Second one was a friend’s son first deer. Shot was a touch forward and low. The deer was quartering away just a touch, entering near the front leg and out the brisket. They let it lay till dark and found him still alive, he got up but didn’t make it far. We gave it a few hours and helped them recover it, 130 yards DOA.

Me and shadow got to team up with one of our great tracking friends to help recover this bow kill on the SOA hunt in Oak Mt State Park.
