What a beautiful day of community, connection, and smiles at our Summer Read-Out at Chestnut Street Park!

Pathways 2 Peace would like to sincerely thank everyone who came out, showed support, helped organize, volunteered, encouraged the children, and made this event such a success. Seeing families gathered together, children enjoying books, laughter on the playground, and the community showing up for our youth is exactly what this work is all about.

A special thank you to Perry Memorial Library for partnering with us to promote reading and literacy, and to BNA Ice for helping make the day even sweeter with treats for the kids. ๐Ÿง

We are grateful for every parent, child, volunteer, community supporter, and partner who believes in building peace, empowering youth, and creating safe spaces where our children can learn, play, and grow.

This is what community looks like.
This is what support feels like.
This is Pathways 2 Peace. ๐Ÿ’š

Pathways 2 Peace recently had the honor of participating in Rewire CPT training, presented by Roca and sponsored by the NC Office of Violence Prevention at the NC Governor's Crime Commission

This training deepened our understanding of trauma, brain science, and behavior-change frameworks that are essential to effective Community Violence Intervention work.

We are committed to building regional partnerships and being good stewards of every opportunity to serve Vance County and beyond.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ This Morning on WIZS Radio: Pathways 2 Peace in Action! ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

Earlier today, P2P founder Charles Turrentine Jr. was joined by Dispatch editor Gary Band and local business leaders Tasha Fritz and Roy Brown Jr. for a powerful conversation on WIZS, recapping the recent Data-to-Action Workshop held at Vance-Granville Community College.

The mission was clear: We have the data โ€“ now what do we do with it?

Over two days, community members came together to share stories, analyze data, and identify the root causes of violence in our area:
๐Ÿ”น Poverty
๐Ÿ”น Broken homes
๐Ÿ”น Absenteeism

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œThe time to act is now,โ€ Charles said, as he laid out P2Pโ€™s next steps โ€” from mentorship and peer support to resource hubs and community events like our June 25 Community Read-In with Perry Memorial Library.

Highlights from this morningโ€™s show:
โœจ Tasha Fritz spoke on the power of believing in ourselves and each other.
โœจ Roy Brown Jr. shared how peer support and early intervention can change lives.
โœจ Gary Band reminded us itโ€™s not always about more programs โ€” itโ€™s about stronger connections.

Weโ€™re not just talking about change โ€” weโ€™re building it.

โœ… A Look Back: Pathways to Peace Systems Mapping Workshop
A couple weeks ago, we gathered at Vance-Granville Community College for a powerful Data-to-Action workshop hosted by Pathways to Peace.

Community leaders, service providers, and residents came together to dig deep into the systems that impact our lives every day โ€” from housing and healthcare to education and mental health. Through causal loop mapping, we identified patterns, root causes, and opportunities to make real change.

This was more than a meeting โ€” it was the beginning of a movement to build a more connected, resilient, and peaceful community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and contributed. The work continues, and weโ€™re just getting started. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

๐ŸŽฅ VIDEO RECAP | Pathways 2 Peace held its first โ€œData to Actionโ€ workshop in partnership with community leaders and changemakers from across the region.

Led by Belinda-Rose Young and Vichi Jagannathan of the Rural Opportunity Institute, this interactive session explored how causal loop thinking can turn complex challenges into opportunities for real change.

๐Ÿ’กFrom deep conversations to data-driven solutions โ€” this is just the beginning. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
