Color Grading Breakdown 🎨

Transforming raw S-Log3 footage into a cinematic masterpiece is all about the details. Here’s a peek into my process:

	1.	Normalization: Using DaVinci Resolve, I select S-Log3 in the color management settings, which automatically normalizes the footage, setting the perfect foundation.
	2.	Primary Fixes: I adjust the offset with the primary color wheels. Depending on the vibe—whether it’s moody or vibrant—I tweak the lift, gamma, and gain to sculpt the look. Sometimes, a deeper lift creates that perfect moody scene.
	3.	Custom LUTs: I rarely use pre-made LUTs. Instead, I craft my own by manipulating the shadows, highlights, and midtones with the color wheels to bring out the colors that best tell the story.
	4.	S-Curve Magic: An S-curve adds that necessary pop to the footage. But with great curves come blown-out highlights, so I always fine-tune those in an earlier node.
	5.	Final Enhancements: This is where creativity shines. I may dive into DaVinci’s colorsplice, color warper, HDR wheels, or other curves to elevate the footage to the next level.

Every project is unique, and so is the approach. This is just a snapshot of how I bring visuals to life. 🔥
