Broken crayons = better pencil grip ✏️
One small change, big difference.

I listened 👀
After my last post, suggested something that completely changed how I’m approaching this…
👉 Transpose from A major → G major
So instead of trying to get my toddler to reach for G # (which felt like a stretch 😅),we can now play everything in regular first position.
No shifting.No awkward reaching.
For anyone curious, here’s what I did:
A → GB → AC # → BD → CE → DF # → EG # → F #
Same song.Different key.
We’re going to try this version and see how it goes…

I hope I’m doing this right 😅
Today I showed our toddler son the notes to Pompeii on the cello… and this is what happened.
I’m honestly not 100% sure I taught it correctly. But he tried.
Thank you to this amazing community for all the tips, encouragement, and ideas you’ve shared. It truly means so much. I’m learning right alongside him, so any bit helps.

🎥 Sometimes the lesson plan changes… and that’s okay.
I was about to do our usual flashbook session with the kidlets, but they had a different idea. They were much more interested in counting their legs. 😆
So we turned it into a quick little math moment.
They started with 3 and 1 makes 4.Then we tried 2 and 2 makes 4. And of course my son wanted to test 0 and 4 makes 4. 😂
Sometimes the best learning moments happen when we follow their lead instead of forcing the plan.
In this short clip you’ll also hear how I move between English and Japanese naturally during our play. Little moments like this are how we build bilingual exposure throughout the day. Just small learning moments that add up over time.
