"Compostable" means about as much as "natural."

CBC Marketplace tested various "compostable" products in:

a) a lake,
b) a backyard composter,
c) buried underground.

Almost nothing completely broke down. Most of these types of single-use products are compostable where facilities exist. But those facilities barely exist anywhere.

If "you're one of the millions of Canadians whose municipalities do not accept compostable items, it's nearly impossible to access a commercial composter."

Beware greenwashing!
