A little diversity this week . Took on a SBF 302 project and wanted to do something out of the ordinary.
The base started with 289 block which we tried to keep it as original as we could but the Rods were seized and we couldn’t find any replacements
So we had to go with a 302 Rotating assembly .
But the real magic was in the top end, We modernized the valvetrain with GM LS parts
Valves , seals/locators and springs.
We also machined the heads for screw in studs and guide plates.

Another Hemi going out the 🚪
Was previously “rebuilt” by another shop but never ran right.
We tried to salvage most of the hard parts but we did have to go to a oversized piston to clean up the 0.0015 taper in the cylinder bores .
We also went ahead and added a Texas Speed & Performance 223/232 .582/.582 113 Camshaft
And deleted the MDS system .

sealing it all up with Cometic gaskets all around .
