Closing day is exciting, but what you do next matters to stay organized and protect your investment. ✨🗝️

▪️Change the locks. You never know who still has a key.
▪️Start a home binder. Keep warranties, manuals, paint colors, appliance info and trusted contractors in one place.
▪️Update your address. Everywhere. Do this to avoid missed mail.
▪️ Label shut-off valves. Make sure everyone in the home knows where the water and gas shut-offs are located before you ever need them.
▪️Replace toilet seats. Small cost and big peace of mind.
▪️Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Replace batteries and make sure each device is working properly. These should be replaced every 10 years.
▪️Confirm utility accounts are in your name. Make sure everything transferred correctly after closing.
▪️Set up a maintenance calendar. Add reminders for HVAC servicing, gutter cleaning, filter changes and seasonal tasks so nothing gets missed.
