Hello everyone,

Many people have contacted and reached out to me on this issue of Fort Bend ISD not playing their positive role during these uncertain and unprecedented times.

Fort Bend ISD Board has a leadership role. We thank them for their service but they should not and MUST not play politics. By not adopting masking up policy, they are putting our children, teachers, parents and grand parents' health at risk.

Why is it so difficult to follow a consistent policy? We know wearing masks help in reducing the spread of infections including Covid based on numerous scientific studies conducted by credible and reputable institutions in the US and many advanced countries in the world.

Education is about learning and we strongly encourage the Fort Bend ISD board to learn from science and help alleviate the concerns of thousands of parents, grand parents, teachers and children by adopting the policy of wearing masks. The other alternative is to go back to online learning until we know what's going on with this deadly virus with new Delta and Mu variants that have emerged. We should not play with people's lives and health period.

This is the right thing to do and require strong leadership instead of playing politics during this pandemic. We hope the Fort Bend ISD school board will adopt a risk averse policy and consistent approach instead of sending mixed, conflicting and confused messages to the people of Fort Bend.

Again, we thank you for your service but leadership is expected on this issue of masking up.
