The Art of Emotion
Color is vibration. It has the power to move emotion, the power to stir our imagination, to make us cry, laugh, mellow out, energize, and it has the power to heal us. My focus as an artist has been leading me to blank canvases without the old method of planning, visualizing, taking reference, and then painting what I see. The focus now is on taking in all I see, the really inspiring stuff and translating that through the lens of emotion. In other words I paint what I feel from what I see. The most satisfying works are usually the ones that just had to happen. I had no idea what was going to come out of the session. I just knew that a certain color would express this feeling.
