Our shows are few & far between right now - I don't feel tethered to my ego, I just want to sit beside my big old hearting dog and deliberately choose the nights I want to leave the house -- not chase down some moving finish line.

For so long I'd jump up and say yes to most gigs or asks or wants or needs . . . but I am really trying to carve out what I want out of life. And these 3 questions are what I ask myself when an opportunity arises . . .

1.) Will this bring us honest, immense joy and leave our lives and our community richer than they were before?

2.) Is this a meaningful step forward, something that truly grows us, opens new doors, and changes the shape of where we’re headed?

3.) Will this meaningfully support our family, giving us the kind of financial freedom that allows us to make brave choices like buying a home of our own?
