What's in store for you this week? I got some cleaning to do but looking forward to a relaxing movie night watching Space Jam by Lebron James.
How often do you think you should be cleaning your bathroom? 👀
Ⓐ 1 time a week
Ⓑ 2 times a week
Ⓒ 1 time a month
Ⓓ 2 times a month
The answer may surprise you. Some areas should be cleaned daily, while other areas should be cleaned no less than once a week. A regular cleaning schedule can prevent grime and germs from building up and save you time in the long run.
We all have comfort food, what's yours? Mine is Crawfish. Something about Louisiana food helps me feel relaxed and nurtures my soul. 😋
Whether you are sharing your voice online or in person, educating yourself or others, or taking action from your home or protesting in the streets remember we all have to come back home and our homes should be a place of peace and relaxation. No matter how big or small this is the place that needs to feel safe. You may be having a stressful year and it feels like a never-ending disaster roller coaster ride. It's so important to evaluate how you are managing your stress. Here is one helpful tip we can all do.
Positive Self-Talk 🙂
Let’s be honest, we all talk to ourselves! Sometimes we talk out loud but usually, we do it in our heads. Self-talk can be positive ("I can do this" or "everything will be OK") or negative ("I'll never get better" or "I'm so stupid"). Negative self-talk increases stress. Positive self-talk can help you calm down and control stress. With practice, you can learn to shift negative thoughts to positive ones. For example:
Negative to Positive
"I can't do this."> "I'll do the best I can. I’ve got this."
"Everything is going wrong." > "I can handle this if I take one step at a time."
"I hate it when this happens." > "I know how to deal with this; I've done it before."
“I feel helpless and alone.”> “I can reach out and get help if I need it.”
“I can’t believe I screwed up. > "I'm human, and we all make mistakes. I can fix it."
To really make it work, practice positive self-talk every day — in the car, at your desk, before you go to bed or whenever you notice negative thoughts. It’s a great practice to teach kids, too! Share your tips in the comments below.
