Beat the Heat 2026



Precinct2gether and Reliant are partnering again to give seniors one more way to stay safe and comfortable in their own homes this summer. Every summer for the past seven years we’ve provided portable A/Cs to seniors that have a non-working central A/C system or window units.



Reliant generously donates $20,000 every year and Precinct2gether supplements the remaining dollars to purchase the units. Since 2020, Reliant and Precinct2gether have distributed almost 700 portable A/Cs totaling over $225,000.



From now until the end of August, seven Precinct 2 community centers serve as Cooling Centers and are open to anyone who needs a place to cool off, rest, and stay safe.

At the end of the day, this is about making sure our seniors and our most vulnerable neighbors know they are not alone. We see you, we hear you, and we are going to keep showing up for you.
