So you think you know exactly what a notary does or doesn’t do in the State of Texas? Well just in case you aren’t 100% sure, here is a list of those things we don’t do.

1. A notary public is not a notario or notario público.
2. A notary public is not authorized to practice law.
3. A notary public may not give legal advice or prepare legal documents.
4. A notary public may not charge a fee for preparation of immigration documents or represent someone in immigration matters.
