Theatre Under the Stars presents Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston from Tuesday, May 19through Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is a moving journey through the life of one of music’s greatest icons. At just 18, Carole King was penning chart-toppers for Aretha Franklin and The Drifters. By 29, her own voice defined an era. Featuring timeless classics like “I Feel the Earth Move,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” and “You’ve Got a Friend,” this unforgettable musical will move your heart and soul.
This promotion is open to all who register and make a donation to HAVIN.
🎟 This is a fundraiser for HAVIN. For donations in the following amounts, you will receive raffle Tickets as follows:
• $10 = 1 raffle ticket
• $25 = 3 raffle tickets
• $50 = 7 raffle tickets
✨ Donations to HAVIN are always welcome and appreciated. However, this fundraising drawing begins on Monday, April, 13, 2026 and the deadline to enter in this promotion is 5:00 PM Central Time on Friday, May, 15, 2026.
The winner will be announced during a live Zoom call on Saturday, May 16, 2026. All registered parties will receive an invitation to this Zoom call, but the winner does not need to be present to win.
*The winner of this drawing will receive two tickets valid for any evening performance of this musical. The winner will be required to redeem the certificate at least two days prior to the selected performance.
All proceeds support HAVIN and benefit the blind and low vision community.
After registering, make sure to send in your donation.
Remember, registering is only the first part. Registrants will not receive their drawing numbers until payment is received.

That’s right, we welcome walk’ins on the day of the event. As a one-of-a-kind entity in the U.S., HAVIN serves as a master collaborative hub, proving that we are stronger together.
Join us on April 11, 2026, for our signature HAVIN Insight Expo at the University of Houston College of Optometry!
In addition to our focus on the strength of community, this year’s Expo features a deep dive into the technology and advocacy shaping our lives:
• Keynote Excellence: We are honored to host Dr. Bert Phillips, a trailblazer in social justice and higher education administration. His life’s work—spanning from the Tuskegee Institute to his current advocacy role as a person with visual impairment —brings a perspective on empowerment you won't want to miss.
• Low Vision Solutions: We have an outstanding professional panel discussing optimal ways that the low vision team creates individualized service to change lives in this dedicated low-vision sessions.
• The Future is Here: Don’t miss our cutting-edge panels on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in modern independence. You don’t want to miss Ava Carruth and Raul Gallegos, two stellar Houston area accessible technology authorities, sharing the many different and innovative ways that AI is revolutionizing the lives of the blind.

🥳 2026 HAVIN Insight Expo
Registration is now open for the 2026 HAVIN Insight Expo. The Houston Area Visually Impaired Network is proud to share that this year marks the 15-year anniversary of our signature event. We started with a dream to unite our community and have established a legacy of doing just that.

This year’s theme is United by Vision Strengthened by Community for 15 Years.
Our keynote speaker this year is Dr. Bert Phillips.
Cost: $15 per person (Free on Zoom)
Attendees who pre-register are guaranteed a lite breakfast and box lunch and will be entered into a drawing for door prizes.
Onsite registration will also be available on the day of the event.
*Those who register on the day of the event are not eligible for door prizes. Also, breakfast and box lunches will be available to these attendees while supplies last.
The deadline to pre-register is Friday, March 27, 2026, 5 PM.
This will be a hybrid event, with no cost to attend via Zoom.
