The Pruitt-Igoe Myth is a 2011 documentary film detailing the history of the Pruitt–Igoe public housing complex in St. Louis, Missouri, and the eventual decision to raze the entire complex in 1976. Subtitles in Spanish. Content warning: strong language.

We’ll break down the steps of building a campaign, share real examples, and talk through lessons from past HTU campaigns. If you’ve been thinking about taking action against your landlord, this is a great place to start—bring your neighbors and learn ways to escalate your demands together.

As always, we’ll have food, childcare, and time to discuss any tenant issues folks want to share.

When it comes to tenant issues—your lease is everything. Landlords often try to take advantage of tenants by violating lease agreements or including unfair terms. Knowing how to read your lease and understanding what to watch out for is essential to protecting yourself and pushing back against landlord abuse.

During this week’s meeting on Monday, March 9, we’ll have a popular education discussion about how to read your lease, what’s standard in most leases, and the key things to look out for. Bring your reading glasses, your lease, and your questions!

Cuando se trata de cuestiones relacionadas con los inquilinos, el contrato de renta lo es todo.
