At Rising Oaks, we’re helping youth and caregivers build the tools they need to grow emotionally healthy and resilient.
This months session, we were grateful to have a mental health counselor Stephanie Davis join us to lead a meaningful conversation around social-emotional learning, helping our youth to be aware of self. We move beyond only naming emotions like “angry,” “sad,” or “happy” and begin identifying what they are truly feeling, while also learning healthy coping strategies they can carry into everyday life.

What made today especially powerful was hearing one parent share that she needed this too.
She expressed how often she is the one constantly pouring out for others, and how this session “watered” her today.

That is the heart of this work.
Rising Oaks is not only creating space for youth to heal, grow, and build emotional awareness, we are also creating space for caregivers to be seen, supported, and strengthened.
Because when we equip both the child and the caregiver, we help build healthier homes, stronger relationships, and brighter futures.

While this photo highlights one sponsor, it represents the many who showed up in ways both seen and unseen.
Many others meeting us in parking lots and arranging doorstep pickups, quietly, faithfully, and with love.
This year, we also faced a hurdle, 20 children were unsponsored, but because of generous donors who gave financially, a partner organization Altruistic Endeavors NGO that stepped in to support, and shoppers who went shopping on our behalf, every one of our children received gifts.
No child was overlooked.
No family was left out.
To our shoppers who went store to store for our children, partner organization and to our donors whose generosity helped offset this unexpected need, thank you for being the hands and heart that made a way. We truly appreciate your Love in Action! 1 John 3:18
