Adolescence can be a tough time period for many dogs and their guardians 🫶🏼 Both Molly (15 mo brown Shepherd mix) and Zai (9 mo Golden Doodle) have been working on building confidence, while also working on arousal control and emotional regulation skills. Before we started training, Zai displayed over the top excitement 😅 ALL the time. There was no off switch unless she she was in her kennel. Zai was very mouthy with humans, she jumped and grabbed at any loose clothing and was unable to be handled or pet without peeing herself. Molly, on the other hand, was a bit more timid around humans, but needed help learning to dial down the intensity around other dogs.

With consistency, some added structure, relaxation, environmental management, adequate enrichment and creating a baseline criteria of calmness for access to anything; both dogs have come leaps and bounds in a relatively short period of time. I couldn’t be more proud of them and their families 🤗
