🇺🇸🐾 Texas Homeward Bound Animal Rescue is excited to announce that we will be attending the 2nd Annual Animal Mayday Save-A-Pet Event hosted by Trinity County Pet Alert! 🐾🇺🇸

Join us on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10 AM – 4 PM at the Trinity Community Center in Trinity, Texas for a day dedicated to helping animals and supporting the community.

This family-friendly event will feature:

🎨 Local vendors & crafts
🏆 Beta Club Pet Contest
🐾 Pet resources and community organizations
❤️ And so much more!

**BIG UPDATE 🐾❤️**

We know it’s been a little quiet the past week or two — things have been moving *fast* behind the scenes…

We are **so close** to a huge milestone. We’re in the process of closing on a new property, and we couldn’t be more excited about what this means for the future.

While this is a personal step for us, it’s also going to allow us to grow and do even more for the animals we rescue — more space, better setup, and the ability to help more dogs and cats in need.

We’re not all the way there *just yet* — but we’re getting very close, and we’ll be sharing everything as soon as it’s official 🙏

In the meantime, we’ll be posting some **updates on Enso and Sushi** ❤️ so you can catch up with them and see how they’re doing!

Also — we’re **SO CLOSE to 100 followers**!!

We’re currently at 98, and once we hit 100, we’ll be able to start going **LIVE** and show you daily updates, behind-the-scenes, the property progress, and everything we’re building in real time.

🚨 Rescue Update – Ventus! 🚨

We’re on our way to BARC https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15fSaNkhms7/ to pull Ventus ( ) today 🐱❤️. He’s safe and will be going straight into our trusted, vetted foster network that we’ve built over time — so he’s in loving hands.

Tomorrow, we’ll also be at R.P. Harris School for fun and educational activities with the kids! 🐾💛

🥶❄️ **Cold Front Coming — Bring Animals Inside & Be Prepared** ❄️🥶

A cold front is moving into Houston, and now is the time to act. **All animals should be brought inside whenever possible.** Dogs, cats, and small animals are not meant to be left outside in cold temperatures — even short exposure can be dangerous.

**What you can do now:**

**Bring animals indoors**
• Keep pets inside the home, garage, or a warm enclosed space
• Provide warm bedding and keep them away from drafts
• Check heating sources and cords for safety

**For animals that cannot come indoors (such as horses or livestock):**
• Provide sturdy shelter from wind and rain
• Use dry bedding like straw for insulation
• Ensure constant access to unfrozen water
• Increase feed to help maintain body heat

Cold weather can be life-threatening, especially for puppies, seniors, short-haired animals, and cats. A little preparation goes a long way in saving lives.
