Welcome to Mara Prose Publishing – Where Words Take Flight and Stories Come to Life!

Author PSA:

If you receive an email saying you’ve been “shortlisted,” “selected,” or invited for a “cover story feature” — and then they ask you to pay a participation fee — pause before sending money.

Exposure can be valuable, but vague promises, sudden price drops, pressure to confirm, and unclear deliverables are red flags authors need to take seriously.

Before paying for any editorial feature, author showcase, magazine placement, podcast interview, book club opportunity, or promotional package, ask:

• Who is behind the outlet?
• What exactly am I receiving?
• Is the audience real and verifiable?
• Are the terms in writing?
• Are they guaranteeing exposure, sales, reviews, or visibility they cannot prove?
• Why is there urgency around payment?

Authors, protect your work, your money, and your publishing journey.

Read the fine print. Verify the outlet. Do not let flattery rush your decision.

Mara Prose Publishing is expanding, and I am now seeking aspiring Jr. Editors to join the team as 1099 commission-based contractors.

This opportunity is for individuals who are serious about editing, publishing, storytelling, author support, branding, and helping bring books to life with excellence.

Selected Jr. Editors will begin with structured onboarding and editorial training starting June 1, 2026, to learn the Mara Prose Publishing standard, workflows, communication expectations, client experience, and brand representation requirements.

This is not an hourly position. Compensation will be commission-based and tied to a percentage of paid client projects. There will also be an affiliate/referral bonus program for leads that turn into signed client contracts.

I am looking for individuals who are polished, professional, deadline-oriented, coachable, organized, emotionally intelligent, brand-focused, and serious about protecting the Mara Prose Publishing brand at all times.
