This Tax-Free Weekend, let’s make our kids a community initiative.

As a Realtor, helping families find a home is only part of what I do. Building a community where every child has the opportunity to succeed is what truly matters to me.

It’s hard to imagine a child walking into their classroom without the basic supplies they need to learn. But for many families in our area, that’s a reality and together, we can change it.

Here’s my challenge to you: Pack 3 backpacks this Tax-Free Weekend. Fill them with notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, glue, and all the little things that help a child walk into school feeling confident.

Then, drop them off at:
Free 2 Teach – 3054 Leeman Ferry Rd. SW (donations accepted throughout July during warehouse hours)

Madison City Schools Central Office – 211 Celtic Drive (July 27–30, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.)
Madison Police Department – 100 Hughes Road (“Cram the Cop Car” donations accepted through July 31)

Saturday I traded contracts for construction tools and stepped way outside my comfort zone.

I’ve volunteered plenty of times before, but this was my first time helping build a home with Habitat for Humanity and let’s just say nobody who knows me would ever describe me as “handy.”

I usually see a power tool and immediately start looking for a man to help. 😂 But Saturday, I showed up, learned something new, and got to be part of something much bigger than myself.

It was a reminder that serving your community doesn’t require perfection. It just requires showing up.
