A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for portions of Southeast Illinois Central and Southern Indiana Western into Central Ohio until 300 AM EDT.
Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible A tornado or two possible
A squall line will likely progress east into the Watch area through this evening into tonight. Strong to severe gusts ranging from 55 to 70 mph will be capable of wind damage within the more intense surges of the line. A brief tornado or two with an embedded mesovortex is also possible.
Stay weather aware and be ready to take shelter and severe weather precautions if/when a warning is issued

Make sure to stay weather aware this evening into tonight with severe weather possible. The greatest threat will be across northwest portions of central IN. Damaging wind gusts are the primary hazard with isolated tornadoes and large hail also possible. Localized flooding cannot be ruled out.
