These days don’t come around often, but they’re always a nice break from the elements. 🙏🏼💛

This morning’s storms left more than just rain behind.

Use caution while driving — large branches and even downed trees are blocking some roadways, including this one on 71st Street.

I also spotted several large branches along Kessler while driving to the station this morning! Stay alert, and watch for storm debris on the roads!

META is making moves…whether we like it or not.

Meta, Facebook's parent company, is helping train workers for the growing data center industry in Indiana through its new "America's Workforce Academy." The company says it plans to invest more than $115 million in the program's first year, training thousands of workers across four cities, including Indianapolis.

The program requires no degree and no prior experience. Participants receive fully funded training, including tuition, travel, lodging, and a daily stipend. Those accepted are guaranteed a job offer with a Meta contractor upon successful completion and will be placed on data center construction projects.

This comes as multiple data center developments are being considered across Morgan, Shelby, Hendricks, Henry, and Marion counties.

On one hand, it's hard to ignore the opportunity: paid training, no student debt, and a direct path to employment. Meta calling the jobs “the most stable and in-demand careers over the next decade.”

On the other hand, I can't help but wonder: are we creating jobs in order to replace other jobs? Are we shifting the workforce toward building the systems that may eventually eliminate many traditional roles?

What do YOU think?

Check out these photos from a massive fire at a construction trailer in Zionsville.

The fire broke out just before 3 a.m. this morning near Chauncey Street and Johnson Road. Firefighters from Zionsville, Whitestown, and Pike Township responded and were able to bring the large blaze under control in about 20 minutes.

Fortunately, no one was at the construction site when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
