Indiana Senate's Elections Committee passes redistricting bill
More than 120 Hoosiers signed up to speak to the committee as they prepared to vote on whether or not to advance the bill.
The plan to redraw Indiana's congressional map is officially one step closer to becoming reality.
For months now, the White House has been leaning on Indiana to redraw our state's nine House Congressional districts to try and pick up two more Republican seats. Their goal is to help the GOP keep control of Congress next year.
After hours of debate Monday, the proposal is now headed to the full Senate, where lawmakers will be able to offer changes before they take a final vote.
It was a long day that started with lawmakers on Senate Elections Committee hearing over 4 1/2 hours of testimony from close to 130 Hoosiers. Some were for redistricting, some were against it. >>>www.beat509.com
