Why give $5 to this rescue on Friday?

•The rescue is also a sanctuary that cares for seniors and long-term medical for their entire lives. They also require cremation services when they sadly pass. They require food and vet care for many years, not just days, weeks, or months.

•The rescue is a physical shelter that requires thousands of dollars a month to maintain (ground maintenance of 6 acres, insurance, kennel costs, kennel supplies and employee wages. Foster-based rescues have none of these costs.

Did you know that kennel disinfectant costs $50 a gallon? You thought gas for your car was expensive.

Dog treats for one day is over $100.
Dog food for one day is $160.

Vet care this week: Thelma. Urinary tract infection with a stubborn case of giardia. Cost was $56 for antibiotics and $150 in Panacur. Vet exam and urinalysis and f***l: over $200.

As consumer of social media, we are inundated with information and over-stimulated. We have been trained to absorb information as quickly as possible and go into the next video. It’s the way of the new world.

Please pause and remember, we are not just videos with trending music or pictures that ultimately fails to completely capture the shepherds’ greatness. We are a non-profit competing for donations among thousands of others. We are in it for the long-haul; until the very last senior shepherd passes.

The national well-known animal welfare organizations such as The Humane Society and Best Friends Society CEOs, CFO, VP and Presidents have benefits, days off, personal time off, sick days, and vacations. I highly doubt that any of them would accept $5 per hour and work 80+ hours a week consistently. I will.

These same organizations bring in mega-corporations as donors. This rescue has no major sponsorship. It depends on other German Shepherd Dog lovers who want to be a part of saving their lives.
