Han'Done Co.
Han'Done Co. is an acre farm with fruits, vegetables, herbs, chickens, ducks, bees, and hopefully soon, soap, honey, eggs and classes.
Well! I see it's been a little over a year since I posted anything about the farm! It has been a very difficult year. And a hard winter. The chickens didn't lay an egg for probably 6 months, but I have an old faithful that has begun laying nice brown eggs. I am down to 13 chickens (including 2 roosters), and a pair of ducks, but I am to 3 bunnies. Another chocolate and a white have joined us. They are named Fufu, and Chocolate respectively.
Looking for some input... I am planning a big garden this year, but undecided whether I should get more chicks and bees. Any comments or opinions?
Getting spring fever! Tapped the maples today, cleaned the chickens nest boxes and the rabbit cage. Groomed the rabbit (I can't remember what I named her) as you can see in the picture. I think I gave her an alter ego. Apparently I have been remiss in her care. Hauled 200 # of feed (50 # at a time), looked on Craigslist for chicks. What kind should I get this year? What are your favorites?
I posted my extra roosters on craigslist- they are so friendly I hate to see them go, but they're pestering my girls!!! I would keep one of them as a pet if I could have him in the house- he's awesome- and beautiful... If anyone is interested, I'm making deals... just sayin'
