šŸ” Garden Path šŸŖ“šŸŖ

Wrapped up a great little project that made a big impact without stretching the homeowner’s budget. The before photo shows a worn dirt path on a slope that was getting harder to walk safely. Using the materials already available on the property, I recycled large natural stones and paired them with Pressure Treated 2x4s to build a sturdy, structured set of steps.

The stones were hand‑selected and repositioned to create solid risers, while the pressure‑treated 2x4s helped lock everything in place and give each step a clean, defined edge. The result is a natural-looking staircase that blends right into the landscape, adds safe access up the hill, and keeps costs low by reusing existing materials.

A simple, sustainable upgrade that completely changes how usable and inviting this part of the yard feels.

šŸ›āœØ Breathing New Life Into an Outdated Bathroom

This bathroom was ready for a reset. Mold had started building up on the old surfaces, so the first step was a full scrub-down and remediation to make sure the space was clean, healthy, and ready for new finishes. Once prepped, everything was primed and finished with two coats of Sherwin-Williams’ Emerald line in a Semi‑Gloss Raindrop Color — a clean, modern color that instantly brightens the room.

šŸ’§ Why Semi‑Gloss Matters in a Bathroom Without a Vent Fan

Even though this bathroom is technically code‑compliant thanks to the operable window, real‑world moisture doesn’t care about code. Without a mechanical fan, humidity lingers longer — which means the paint needs to work harder.

That’s where semi‑gloss earns its keep:

- Better moisture resistance — it sheds steam instead of absorbing it.

- Easier to clean — perfect for preventing mold from taking hold again.

- Longer-lasting finish — especially important in older bathrooms that see daily use.

Choosing a premium enamel like Emerald ensures the surface stays durable, washable, and protected.

šŸŽØ All One Color

Painting the walls, trim, and ceiling all in the same color isn’t just a shortcut — it’s a design trend that’s gaining traction in today’s market. Homeowners are leaning toward:

- Clean, continuous color that makes small rooms feel larger

- A modern, unified look that photographs beautifully for resale

- Less visual clutter, which helps older spaces feel updated without a full renovation

šŸ“ŗ Just wrapped up a clean upgrade for this entertainment space. The new TV was oversized for the existing stand—the feet barely fit—so I mounted the TV directly into two studs for a solid, long‑term hold. All wiring was routed behind the wall to eliminate clutter and give the setup a crisp, seamless look. I also installed a dedicated mount for the soundbar beneath the TV, with its wiring hidden as well. The result is a clean, modern setup that looks intentional from every angle.
