Itβs been a while since we asked Scout to be a patio dog, but she is still the very best at it. (When fulfilled and with our support, of course π)
I always get nostalgic-proud of those years we spent sitting outside nearly every single morning, building her confidence and comfort and ability to be calm, when we get to just enjoy these scenarios on a whim now.
Makes me think about finding the balance in all the things, always: wanting to have a range of skills for flexibility; simultaneously thinking about which skills we really need; prioritizing accordingly; making sure my goals for us are actually, you know, mine (and not prescribed to me by the masses who donβt actually live with my dog day to day).

Scout and I here with a very important message: Go play with your dog, if youβre able!!
Play is still the single most important thing we do in a day. The foundation of our relationship and her reactivity progress and a whole lot of the joy we get to share. π
