Got to set up this cool telecaster for gentlemen today.

Aging the nitrocellulose on this 2026 Haney Goldtop. I mimic the aging process of a guitar that has been in and out of aircraft cargo holds, weather and played for 50 - 60 years by first letting the finish cure for at least 1 month, then I put it in a stand up deep freezer at 0 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 hrs to see what results I achieve. it usually takes 3 to 6 times depending on how hot it is outside. the greater the difference of temp. the better. I usually don't do a whole lot of damaging the finish beyond this - a few rub marks where the arm rests and natural marks from playing. I use acid fumes to age the nickel hardware. I also use a relic stain after the finish has gone through its process to make the cracking more pronounced.

My first violin restoration. When I got her, the neck with snapped off and the top had separated from the sides. She was all weathered, so I gave her a new nitro cellulose finish.

I’ve never had a gretsch! Saved this guitar from being sold to a pawn shop for $200. I purchased it for a fair price. Mint condition too.

On the bench today, replacing a flame maple fretboard with a Macassar Ebony fretboard.

Repairing an old violin. The neck had broken off and the back had come apart from the side as well.

Only one more Goldtop will be crafted this year, featuring my distinctive Murphy lab-style aging technique. $4200 if you would prefer it not be aged let me know in the next couple of weeks.
