Costa Rica 🇨🇷:

I didn’t really want much from this trip. Waves and relaxation. I wanted to remember to forget to remember. Thanks Isaac Brock. I just wanted to cruise from sand to ocean to a chill room to cafe and back again. Not much expectation. I wanted waves to come to me. No great story to tell, but a great story I’ll never forget.

Letting go is the ultimate ride, and you find you end up where you’re suppose to be. Why can all life be boiled down to a surf analogy?

They say one is worth a thousand. A million different ideas of what is happening and what happened. We get lost in the potential. A video is all the things you should see, follow the trail. A photo is whatever you want to see.

I was waiting to meet up with my friends in this ally in Osaka. I was struck at how much this sign popped. If you ever wonder why I’m late, now you know.

Desert Songs:

Recently my friend visited the Grand Canyon. She spoke with a gleam in her eye about her time there. It moved her in ways that was more easily related in emotions than in words. Luckily, I knew this story all too well.

Instantly, I was rekindled of one of the best trips of my life. 12 days driving through endless deserts with no idea the beauty that it beheld. Every vast plain crossed turned into another stunning sight. Mile after mile my eyes captured scenes I’d never be able to photograph. They were part of the experience, too fleeting to explain.

Things really slow down there. You watch time trickle along. Life starts dawning on you about all the great histories and mysteries. It’s all laid right before you. And just as you start to fully grasp it all, it seems to fade. A fleeting sensation that you knew everything; dust in the wind.

Couldn’t be happier with my life back in the islands. All the things I love in one place. Stoked to be blessed with another year here and opportunity to be a part. On this Little Rock in space and time, the little place in the sun, Mahalo nui Maui!
