🚨 Can Your Child Reach You in an Emergency?

At Keystone Life Safety Initiative, we encourage every parent and guardian to make sure their children know:

âś… Parent/Guardian Full Names
âś… Cell Phone Numbers
âś… Where Their Parent or Guardian Works
âś… Workplace Phone Numbers (if applicable)
âś… An Alternate Emergency Contact
âś… Home Address

When emergency responders, school staff, law enforcement, or medical personnel are caring for a child during an emergency, this information can be extremely important. If a parent or guardian cannot be reached on their cell phone, knowing where they work may help officials make contact more quickly.

We’ve responded to incidents where children knew Mom or Dad’s first name—but had no idea where they worked, how to contact them, or who else could be called. In a stressful situation, that can create delays when a child needs support and reunification with their family.

đź’ˇ Family Safety Tips:

📱 Create a simple emergency contact cheat sheet and place it inside your child’s phone case.

🗄️ Keep a copy in a common household location, such as a kitchen junk drawer, where family members can quickly find it.

🧲 Post a copy on the refrigerator so it is easily accessible if your child is home during an emergency.

📝 If you don’t know where to start, print out the Emergency Contact Information Sheet we’ve provided. It includes all of the primary information emergency responders, schools, and caregivers may need to help reunite a child with their family during an emergency.

Tonight, ask your child:

• What is Mom or Dad’s full name?
• What is their phone number?
• Where do they work?
• Who is our emergency contact?
• What is our home address?

If they can’t answer, take a few minutes to practice together.

Prepared families are safer families.

National CPR Week

Every second counts when someone suffers a cardiac arrest. Immediate CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival, yet many people still don’t know what to do in an emergency.

This National CPR Week, take a few minutes to learn a skill that could save the life of a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor.

❤️ Recognize the emergency
📞 Call 911
đź«€ Start CPR
⚡ Use an AED if available

At Keystone Life Safety Initiative, we are committed to helping build a safer, more prepared community through CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed, and emergency preparedness education.

You don’t have to be a healthcare provider to save a life. You just have to be willing to act.

Prepare to Act. Ready to Save.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Tonight, Keystone Life Safety Initiative partnered with Lancaster Snow Angels for another successful “Save a Life Night” in Ephrata, PA.

What made this night special wasn’t just the training m, it was seeing entire families, volunteers, and junior members learning together side by side. From CPR and AED familiarization to bleeding control and tourniquet application, participants got hands-on experience with the skills that can truly make the difference before first responders arrive.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was watching the younger generation step up. The questions, engagement, and willingness to learn from the junior volunteers was incredible to see. Building a safer community starts with education, confidence, and people willing to act when someone needs help most.

Prepared communities save lives.
Training creates confidence.
Confidence creates action.

One thing we strongly believe at Keystone Life Safety Initiative. It does not matter whether there are 2 people in a room or 60 people in a room. If people are willing to learn how to save a life, we will show up every single time.

A huge thank you to Lancaster Snow Angels for trusting us to be part of your mission and for investing in the safety of your volunteers and communities. Also thankful for organizations like Lancaster County Joining Forces that continue supporting outreach and education efforts throughout our county.

This is only the beginning.
More outreach. More training. More impact.

🚨 A HUGE step forward for student athlete safety in Pennsylvania. 🚨

We are incredibly excited to see Pennsylvania now requiring CPR trained staff and AEDs at all PIAA athletic events. This is the kind of legislation that truly saves lives.

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone anytime, even young healthy athletes. When it does, every second matters. Early CPR and rapid defibrillation with an AED can dramatically increase survival rates.

An AED does not replace EMS. It bridges the gap until help arrives. In many cases, early defibrillation within the first few minutes can mean the difference between life and death.

At Keystone Life Safety Initiative, this is exactly why we push so hard for CPR education, AED awareness, and community preparedness. The more people trained and the more AEDs available, the safer our communities become.

Prepared people save lives. ❤️⚡

We’re incredibly grateful for the organizations and supporters standing behind the mission of Keystone Life Safety Initiative.

Because of your support and donations of life-saving equipment, we’re able to put critical tools directly into the hands of the community and responders who may need them most. From bleeding control supplies and overdose response equipment to CPR/AED training resources, every donation helps make a real difference.

These aren’t just supplies sitting on a shelf, they are tools that can help save a life when seconds matter.

A huge thank you to our supporters including Lancaster County Joining Forces, Adventures With Purpose, Makin’ The Hit, and North American Rescue for believing in our mission to educate, prepare, and empower our community.

We truly appreciate every organization, business, and individual helping us build a safer and more prepared community.
