Search efforts by law enforcement will resume on 02/24/2026 at 9:00am and will focus on the water of the lower harbor, near Founder’s Landing, based on further information received on 02/23/2026. Searchers with specialized equipment and training will be used.

Volunteers wanting to participate in further land-based search efforts are asked to report to the lobby of the Hampton Inn (461 S. Lakeshore Blvd.) at 10:00am on 02/24/2026 for further directions. Volunteers are reminded to stay off the ice in the harbor.

ORIGINAL: As the search continues today (Monday, Feb. 23), the Northern and Marquette community extends its deep, heartfelt support to the family and friends of NMU construction management student Trenton Massey.

Trenton was reported missing to local authorities yesterday, Feb. 22, and was last seen wearing an olive green and black winter jacket.
