Throughout my life I have struggled with anxiety and depression. I left a career in cooking and fell in love with coffee because of it. Yippee Cafe is part of my personal evolution to live healthier and be happier. I started Yippee out of our house in July of 2020 as liberating creative project, turning my emotions into something colorful and joyous. Yippee Cafe has grown a lot since the beginning but the project still remains a creative outlet where I can step away from everything else and be emotionally and mentally healthy.

Now more than ever, it’s important to talk about mental health in our communities. Taking care of our mental health is the first step in ending stigma, which is why we are proud to support the Break The Barriers movement. Today we are signing Backline’s Break The Barriers pledge - promising to prioritize our mental health and make it easier for others to do the same.
