You don’t get what you don’t aim for.
Plain and simple. 🤷🏻♀️
If you’re waiting for things to turn around and magically get better or for someone to save you…
Listen, I don’t want to finish that sentence. Instead, I want to say that being your own hero is the most beautiful gift you can give yourself. 🎁
By getting super clear about what you want and intentional about how you show up day in and day out, you’ll start to see shifts and transformations in your life.
And don’t get me started on the effects this kind of shift has on your self-esteem! When you start to show up for yourself in a way that you haven’t before, you start to walk with a little more swagger, speak with a little less waiver, stand with a little more poise.

I, like many women, have had a complicated relationship with food and exercise.
In 6th grade, I became anorexic. I started exercising for the first time in my life over the summer before 7th grade. By the end of summer I could run 2 miles when before, I could barely run for 10 seconds. I lost 15 pounds, got a perm, and got a whole new wardrobe of flattering clothes. In 3 months, I had a complete makeover.
This is my first conscious memory of witnessing the power I had over my life and how I could transform myself and my life consciously. This is bittersweet, because my anorexia was a symptom of something deeper.
My anorexia disappeared during my exchange year in Germany at 16. But for my entire adult life, I’ve struggled with yo-yo dieting and weight cycling.
As part of my resolutions for 2021 (which extended into 2022), I vowed not to do any restrictive diets. It was difficult, but I learned so much about myself and my habits.
I learned that my anorexia and my food restriction urges fulfilled a need to have a sense of control in my life. I had irrefutable proof in my life that I could affect change if I controlled what I ate. But while dieting, I obsessed. I went into total overdrive.
Now, every time I notice myself starting to feel the urge to start a diet or to binge, I recognize it as a symptom of something deeper. I use it as a signal for me to do something restorative like Breathwork, a solo road trip, or tapping. It’s a signal to rest and pay attention to my emotional state.
This isn’t a weight transformation story. But it’s a very big and important transformation. My purpose and drive to eat healthy or exercise are holistic - they both affect my emotional and mental state which will continue a cycle of making healthy decisions that will then affect every area of my life. I concentrate on guiding my emotional and mental states so I naturally make healthier decisions instead of allowing my emotional and mental states to control my health.

What is breathwork? 🌬
There are many types of breathwork. The style of breathwork I facilitate is an alternative therapeutic technique called Revelation Breathwork®. It helps people into a shifted state of consciousness to allow repressed thoughts and emotions to surface for processing and integration.
That’s a lot of words to describe something that feels indescribable. Breathwork is using one’s own breath to:
✨ heal emotional trauma
✨ to access creativity
✨ to find peace from stress and anxiety
✨ sometimes to just to cry for an hour
