🔥LinkedIn just launched a global freelance platform!

The new LinkedIn freelance marketplace lets you create a service page to showcase your skills for companies looking to hire freelance talent.

The Service Marketplace is launching with 250 job categories with plans to expand that to 500. At present, LinkedIn's freelance service marketplace is missing a lot of features that exist on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr.

💔Out of all the current limitations, the biggest one for me is freelancers not being able to search for jobs. Clients can find you on LinkedIn, but you cannot find them. That means the freelance service marketplace is currently 100% invite-only, like Fiverr and the Upwork project catalog.

💰For the foreseeable future, Upwork and Fiverr will continue leading the way and at the moment LinkedIn does not pose any threat to them. Upwork actually just had a massive 3rd quarter with revenue up 32%.

👏However, even with all the missing features, as a full-time freelancer, I love this move by LinkedIn. It shows firsthand how rapidly the freelance workforce is growing and evolving.
