I'm not a big one on posting personal stuff but here it goes.

When you find a mentor that goes above and beyond, cherish that relationship. They will guide you, teach you, be your sounding board, tell you when you messed up, and how to fix your mistakes.

You might be 700+ miles away, but it only takes a phone call to reconnect.

Besides all the "tricks of the trade" I was taught, the biggest lesson I learned was this, "It's all about teamwork. The recognition of a job well done is nice, but I couldn't have done it without my crew. They have helped me out and saved me, and I have done that with them. Without my crew, I never could have done what I did."

Never heard more truer words from the most decorated fireman in the history than "The Flame🔥"

35 years of service and retired for 15 years and the mentality is still the same.
