Educational Therapy is powerfully different than tutoring because we understand that the one doing the talking is doing the thinking. Therapists work to draw out the student’s thinking through asking good questions and allowing thinking time while a student forms their answers. That necessary pause is often rushed or entirely skipped over in classrooms.

Drawing out thinking through talking is critical for a student’s long term independence and success. We don’t just want a student to get the correct answer; we want them to understand why they are correct.
