It’s been a busy week in Dallas at NAPAC! July will be 20 years working in the oil and gas industry and it amazes me how much has changed yet remained the same.

So much valuable information was shared during the conference. Commissioner Jim Wright provided a comprehensive update on Texas’s evolving regulatory and legislative landscape, emphasizing recent changes affecting seismic events, produced water disposal, and the oil, gas, and water sectors.

ExxonMobil’s 2050 Outlook projections are unreal — a 15% increase in global energy demand by 2050, with over 50% still met by oil and natural gas, even as renewables like solar and wind are expected to grow more than fourfold.

Not to mention, the transformative impact of generative AI in the oil and gas sector is already evident — from enhancing exploration and drilling efficiency to predictive maintenance and emissions monitoring.

And to think some people still believe Oil & Gas Accounting and Operating is boring. 😏
