This weekend, I had the chance to visit Forest City again— the last township on federal lands in the United States. Managed by a dedicated historical society, Forest City is a hidden gem tucked away in the quiet beauty of the Tahoe National Forest.
As the caretaker guided me through the historic dance hall and surrounding grounds, I found myself transported back to the California mining era. It makes me so grateful for the advances we've made in society. I captured photos of rusted tools, relics buildings, and artifacts that once shaped the dreams of gold-seekers long ago.
