Harvesting sweet peppers for tomorrow’s Conway Farmers Market. These are Jimmy Nardello peppers best described as - “highly prized heirloom Italian frying pepper famous for its intense, candy-like sweetness and lack of heat. Originating in Basilicata, Italy, and brought to the U.S. in 1887”. They are just starting to turn red but the pests like them as well so I have harvested a few days early.

Last night we fried some Jimmy’s with sweet sausage, onion, squash and a handful of our Sakura cherry tomatoes; tossed with pasta and Parmesan cheese, amazing!

Heading to the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach Farmers Market with lots of tomatoes. We have grape tomatoes (chocolate sprinkles and apricot zebra) and a mix of larger tomatoes (Maitai, Cubalibre, Contessa, and Blue tonic). The herb basket is full of basil to compliment the tomatoes. Nothing like homemade sourdough bread and avocado layered with a beautiful Maitai tomato. Our spice rack includes green garlic salt and blackberry jam. Enjoy.

Like many of you, we are flush with squash/zucchini, here is a great recipe for Scarpaccia - https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/scarpaccia-italian-zucchini-tart-recipe

Word of advice, definitely oil the parchment paper very well.

This week we will add Garlic Salt to our basket of dehydrated herbs. We used green garlic and Redmond's Ancient Kosher Sea Salt at a ratio of 1:1. The salt is as important as the organic vegetables we use. Enjoy!

Today at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach Farmers Market, we have brought our first harvest of dragon beans; quantities are limited so be sure to arrive early. Harvest of our green garlic is almost complete; pasta with zephyr squash, green garlic and parmesan cheese, makes a great dinner. Also consider using your squash as a substitute for zucchini in this very tasty galette - https://www.punchfork.com/recipe/Zucchini-and-Ricotta-Galette-Smitten-Kitchen
