*Looks aren't everything:* choose the 'ugly' fruits and vegetables! Imperfect produce are the ones that get thrown away and wasted unnecessarily.

*Go with the times:* cook foods that are in-season! Not only is it tastier and more nutritious, but it supports local farmers and reduces the carbon footprint of your food.

*Top it up:* aim for refilling over buying! Check to see if you have a local refill shop for goods such as pasta, grains, cleaning materials, etc. It avoids using unnecessary packaging and often works out cheaper.

Did you know a single h**p plant yields 220% more fiber than a cotton plant. It is also one of the strongest and most durable of all natural fibers (2-3 times stronger than cotton)! **p

The ‘magical’ plant that currently lacks international credit!

You wouldn’t expect such an innocent looking plant to cause so much controversy around the world, but h**p comes from the same family as Cannabis (or if you want to be fancy you can say Cannabaceae). So, in case you were wondering, no you can’t get high off h**p… it is more like ma*****na’s sober cousin. Unlike cannabis, h**p has very low levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and therefore mainly cultivated for its strong and durable fibres. Despite there being a clear scientific distinction between ma*****na and h**p, US propaganda of the 1930s highly stigmatised h**p’s public image. This negative image also stemmed from an economic desire by the Cotton and Timber industry to derail competition. All of this, led to the creation of The Ma*****na Tax Act of 1937, which banned H**p production in the United States. Eight decades later, we can finally celebrate the signing of the 2018 Farm Bill, which allows h**p to be cultivated, processed and sold in the US.
