Sometimes, a little rearranging can make such a difference. 😍
I've worked with kids for soo many years and have come to learn what works and what doesn't -- when it comes to not only motivating them to clean up after themselves but ways on how to make it fun.
While studying at UC Berkeley, I worked at an Infant & Toddler Center and at a Before & After school program at a nearby Elementary school. Once graduating with a degree in Social Welfare, I became a Behavior Interventionist working with children diagnosed with ASD disorders and also a Nanny for an amazing family. I have always loved helping families thrive and segwaying into Pro Organizing is something that came so naturally.
So, how can you get your little ones to participate in maintaining the space? Let's get real. Those tiny humans are so smart and can easily learn where things belong.
Tip #1: I personally love walking them through any new system - and to help with retention, literally asking them where specific toys belong throughout the process.
Tip #2: Make it fun! They love to win, am I right? Make it a race and divide the room. (Ex: Say "You clean up everything on the rug, I'll clean up everything on the floor") and GO!
Tip #3: To try and help a mess from even being created, I love to only have 1 activity out at a time. Ex: If they want to play with Magna Tiles - but then want to do a Marble Track, then they'll need to clean up the Magna Tiles. Of course, there are exceptions, like leaving up the super cool castle they just made, but cleaning up the rest of the tiles that weren't used can be done. 😉
Tip #4: Don't get overwhelmed when things don't go as planned. Things might end up everywhere at some point, and it's okay. You're doing the best you can mamas! ✨

I want to wish this man, my favorite person, the most amazing Birthday! 🎉
We’ve known each other since we were 11, been in love since we were 21, and to say this guy gets better with age is an understatement. 😍
He is the kindest, smartest, wittiest, hardworking and most lovable person, and I don’t know how I got so lucky. ✨
Baby, you’ve grown so much the past few years and I just know this coming year will be incredible for you! I love you!! 🥰
